Vario II - paint flaking?

Anyone had any problems with paint flaking on a Vario II?

Mine's one of the early ones, and in the last month or so the red paint around the bottom half of the phone has started to chip - around the OK button on the left, around the camera button on the right, and around the USB port.

I always take great care of my phones - I'm able to sell them after a year and genuinely describe them as being in mint condition - so I'm rather disappointed about this. I don't use a case but I always keep it in a pocket on its own, never drop it, and so on - there's not the tiniest mark on it (apart from this flaking paint)! I could just about deal with the paint around the USB port flaking, although I'm always very careful plugging in the cable, but the other two places aren't really acceptable - especially as I never use the camera button!

Is this a common problem with the phone or is mine a cut-and-shut? ;)

Slight chipping around the USB port (me not taking enough care putting it in the cradle), and slight wear through to the white plastic on one corner where my case lining was a little abrasive - but it's definitely worn rather than flaked. Nothing that bothers me.
