i did the following:

sda unlock -> successfull

regedit -> edited evreything to "application unlocked status" in HKLM

super-CID set to 11111111 -> successfull

sim unlock with spv-service -> successfull

then i ran the ROM update to HTC 8300, which seemed to be working until it got stuck at around 71%. then a message appeared something like "unable to whrite ?????? over ?????????? - click OK to exit application.

the rom aupdate application closed and the phone still shows 71%. it is like that for the last half hour.

i have no idea what to do next. can please anyone give me some advise?

i am afraid i will mess up the phone if i just unplugg it or restart or whatever. rom-update doesnt start again, it seems not to be able to verify the rom information.

should i remove the battery and try again? its still plugged in to the pc ;)

What SDA do you have? if it's the European version also known as the SDA Music or possibly the SDA II these phones are not compatible with the 8300 ROM as the 8300 has different hardware.

If you had the US version of the SDA then the ROM should be compatible, but any rom update that has been interrupted is generally fatal for the device.

The only other option you have is to send it to HTC for repair not sure on the Euro conversion bit in £ it will cost around £35 to reflash.

I did the same thing on my C550 in an attempt to prove and also stop people trying to install the ROM.
