Hi, am i the only one having real problems keeping charge in my 3100?? When i first got this phone it would die within 24 hours, then after about a week it perked up and would last maybe 3 days, but again now i can fully charge my 3100 and sometimes within an hour it is completlely flat. I do not use bluetooth, i have recieve incoming beams turned off, i have the screen brightness set right down.

Any ideas anyone??

Please Please Please

No not at all, i dont use it for any email apart from gmail which runs in a midi applet. and i only check this when its on charge!. If push settings are runnign would that cause bad battery life?? i dont think they are (like i say i have not set up any email account). I do a small amount of texting (maybe 25 messages a day) and apart from that it is on standby for the occassional phone call.

many thanks.

Tom

I had the same problem, but on investigation it was my own fault - Wifi, bluetooth etc. It was rectified by getting a today screen plugin that gives info on battery drain in mA and helped e make sure the device was not using more power than expected. Although I am sure it is not as accurate as it tries to be, it is a good idea of how much battery drain there is. WiFi is the one single feature that uses a huge amount of power so make sure this is turned off. I was finding less than 18 hours life with WiFi turned on, but now get about 3 days standby out of the phone. (Personally i think that 3 days battery life of low usage is all you would expect out of a device like this - but check the orange page to see what the quoted figures are.)

Unfortunately I cannot find the file or name of the plugin at the moment, but maybe some likeminded person on the forum has a link to it.

Again, I have been through all my settings and im sure things like bluetooth and wifi are all switched off and im still getting really bad battery life. Unless its switching them back on without me knowing about it! its the kinda thing a microsoft device would do, but then when you look it would lie to you and tell you its all switched off! lol, just wish i could get it sorted!!

If you're in a poor 3G reception area, the constant searching for a signal will help to kill the battery - try switching to GSM only if you don't need the 3G and see if your battery life improves at all

Dont forget that if you have been using some of the installed programs that they could still be running in the background even though you think you have closed them.

I always go into the SETTINGS Memory Manager and then close all running programs. My battery live seems fine and I do use bluetooth on the GPS for navigation.

Transfer this .cab across using activesync, install by tapping the file, then do a soft reset. When your SPV restarts you'll see a new icon in the systray - tap it and you'll have the option to use UTMS, GSM or to auto switch (Default setting) Hope you find this usefull. Credit due to the coder Daniel Herrero @ XDA Developers.com - further details and a thread on the app. can be found there in the Hermes forum :D
