Has anyone tried both?

I have a c600 smartphone with a portrait view. Is the landscape view a better choice or is it just there so that a full keyboard can fit onto the handset? ;)

AFAIK you can't have Landscape on any of the current Smartphones (only on PocketPCs)

The Vox has a landscape option, which goes with the slidey-out keyboard, and things like the Blackjack and the Q have permanent landscape because of their different screen resolution.

Is the permanent landscape (blackjack /Q) a better option than say the c600 screen?

I don't have a Landscape device, but I would assume that...

Landscape is better for long sentences (such as reading or writing messages)

Portrait is probably better for several different sections of shorter information (such as lots of Homescreen plugins)

The resolution is the same - it's just the orientation that changes

I think it's more a personal preference, I only like landscape for web browsing and watching movies apart from that portrait is my preference.

I had a dream that my C600 had a very thin slide out keyboard and that the screen rotated landcape it looked quite strange.

Sorry random point there, There was a guy a while ago who said that this could be done with the programming of mortscript? I wonder if he got anywhere.

I've had both and like the Landscape better, I mostly use my SP for email & internet so think its better suited than the portrait. Really like the QWERTY keyboard too (have the dash at the min) and dont think I'll go back to candy bar format again!

I've had both and currently have a Q. I do prefer the landscape screen because it makes reading and composing email much easier. It also can do a more reasonable representation of a non-mobile-optimized website.
