Question about Smartphone GPS,radio,and tv programs

do they use the internet on the phone to work

for example could radio programs listen to FM

basically, will I get data charges from my wireless provider for using those programs?

GPS has no cost involved unless you are using an application that has a traffic report feature, but the GPS itself has no cost.

Streaming radio and tv over GPRS will have some form of data charge unless you have some form of unlimited data useage agreement.

In the UK we have one device that can recieve digital tv but this is still subscription based but digital radio is free.
