Guest HanifRehman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Hi everyone, I'm having huge problems trying to change any settings once I get into my voicemail on the T-Mobile network using a Vario II. I can dial the number, check my voice mails but when I try to enter any further functions after listening the voice mail it will not accept any commands i.e. delete voicemail, repeat, forward, reply etc. This really is frustrating and I cant for the life of me figure out what is wrong with it. I have checked all my apps and none of them are third party that would cause the phone malfunction. Got in touch with the service desk at T-Mobile and they offered me a poor phone for the replacement and sadly I've been using the phone in anger so much that going back to anything else will cause me an ulcer! ;) Cant live without my phone and I can just about bear the voicemail not working for now but its getting to be a pain in the eye. If anyone can help with any advice or solutions, an Easter Egg will wing its way over to you. Kind regards. Hanif
Guest Jasonkruys Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Is it the DTMF tones, assuming they are set to on (in the 'phone' settings I think), try changing them to short or long (depends what they are now) Sorry if its too obvious.....sometimes things are that simple ;)
Guest HanifRehman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Hi Jason, Thank you for that, at least it seems you know what you are on about, the folk at T-Mobile shop and customer service although helpful as ever, didnt have a clue to how to resolve this and said send it in!! What I have found I need to turn the speakerphone when accessing voice mail and only then can I delete or reply to the various voicemails, seems a bit bizzare that. And I'm not sure whether I can access any other third party lines for example, if you want to pay a bill over the phone sometimes you are asked to key in your visa acnt number, however, since it involves more than one digit being entered I'm not sure whether that would accept it. Anyway, will give it a try and see what happens. Thank you once again and let me know where to send the Easter Egg ;) Kind regards, Hanif
Guest HanifRehman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Well it seems folks that I can get access to some voicemail or menu driven applications. The other issue I have found is that I need to turn the speaker phone on in order to make the keypad work otherwise the DTMF codes being sent through do not work. This can be quite frustrating after you have received a few voicemails. The only other dialler application that I have is Pocket Informant where I have told it to dial my contacts using the Predictive Tone, however, I cant see how this can hamper the T-Mobile Dialler? On other forums that I have read, it appears that I need to make a registry hack, will be doing this later on tonight. I'm surprised no one from T-Mobile have heard of this bug. Will keep you posted.
