ActiveSync 4.5 - Outlook 2003 will not sync all contacts

Hi Boys and Girls,

since i've got my Qtek 8130 Smartphone i've had problems with ActiveSync (Version 4.2 at this time). As i synchronized my phone the first time, only about 40% of my contacts was put from Outlook 2003 to my phone (but no error appeared). So i exported all contacts to Excel, deleted them in Outlook und reimported them - worke fine. Not an nice solution, but it was ok for me. I still got problems with syncing E-Mails, Tasks and Calendar Items, but the problem was not hard enough, so i don't wont care about.

Now i've installed ActiveSync 4.5 and the problems began starting again. At first, the most of the contacts was doubled, but not with all phone numbers per contact. So i deleted all contacts that include not all numbers and synchronized again. But then only about 10% of my contacts left on the phone and i was not able to sync the other one - interesting, that this are the last one i added to outlook or my Smartphone.

Remembering my last method i exported to Excel, deleted all contacts in Outlook und reimported them - result: 0 (!) contacts where synced. I tried some various things, like creating an new Outlook profile and importing the contacts via an .pst backup - the same 10% that was synced after the update found the way to my phone. Also creating new profile and import from Excel will result in 0 contacts synced to the phone (and, of course, they are shown in outlook). Deleting the partnership between PC and Phone and reconfiguring doesn't helped too.

So now i'm at the point i don't know anything else to do - and i'm a little bit f***** up because im moving around with no contacts on my phone ;)

Maybe someone has in idea what can resolve my problems.

Environment:

Qtek 8310 with WM5

USB and Bluetooth Connection (USB Dongle)

Windows XP SP2 with all Patches

Office 2003 Professional with SP2

Outlook 2003 11.8118.8122

So long, thanks for reading.

Sorry for some mistakes in this text, the last time i've written something in this language is long time ago

So i've tested a little bit around (hähä can i say this?) this evening and found out some nice things (ok, not realy nice).

I've installed an new XP with Office and ActiveSync 4.5 in VMware and imported my contacts via Excel file to this "fresh" Outlook. What should i say, it works fine. But of course, this can't be the solution.

So it seems to be an PC based problem.

Environment with the virtual machine:

USB Connection

Windows XP SP2 without any Updates

Office 2003 without any Updates, just Outlook with standard selection is installed

Outlook 2003 11.5608.5606

I will test some other things in the next few days and report you. Meanwhile maybe someone has an other suggestion how to resolve this problem ;)

I am having the exact same problem. I just got a new smartphone (T Mobile SDA) and the problems started. (My old SMT 5600 always worked flawlessly). I haven't tried anything really, but I will try your excel solution to see if that works. Like you said, that's no permanent solution. I'll report back if I discover anything.

same thing here now for some reason, my Wizard has been fine for over a year but now most calendar appointments are refusing to sync, but some do, and contacts are being duplicated on my Outlook 2003. I've not changed or installed anything, have tried hard resets, Activesync upgrades, everything.
