Guest Shaunfarris Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 HI All, I've just changed my car and have transfered my powered M5000 cradle into th new one, but I am getting a lot of readio interference when i plug the phone in, if i pull the cigar lighter connection out the problem goes away, If I dont plug the phone into the cradle i dont have a problem. Any ideas anyone how to cut the interference
Guest xeno1 Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Well, the technical reasons as to why that's happening is that when you plug your phone in an electromagnetic field is created through the cable and your radios antenna seems to be picking that up. As to how to fix that, theres a few things that I can think of that may or may not work. Probably the easiest thing to try first is to try rerouting the cable from the cigarette lighter to the phone in various ways and see if you can't find a spot where it wont interfere any more. You might also try buying a different charger that has thicker shielding on it. The thicker the cable, the better. The one other thing I can think of is to get a cigarette lighter extension cord and really do some rerouting, the farther you can get it from the radio the better and the shielding on the extension cords is usually more than adequate to shield your radio from the em fields even if the cigarette lighter is right next to the radio. More than likely though, if you play with it long enough you'll find a spot where you can move the chargers cord to that won't interfere, the hard part may be figuring out how to make that cord stay there. Good luck.
