Guest TheBebop Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 i need an application that will allow me to listen to an internet radio station. i am on an audiovox smt-5600. i have tried windows media player and TCPMP. i am not sure if i need a special plugin or not. i am getting am unknown file type error from both. the stream in question is kawaii-radio.net. the dialup stream is the one i am trying.
Guest martin Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 You should be able to stream Kawaii radio by copying the .pls or .m3u giles to the phone and then loading them in TCPMP or Coreplayer. You will probably need to establish a GPRS connection (small G) first using Internet Explorer. The Radio kawaii streams are 128Kbit so there will be a LOT of buffering when using 2G GPRS. It will work much better with EDGE of 3G data connections ;)

The internet speed is not the issue. the Dialup relay they offer is only 24kbps which is a little worse quality but still acceptable. I will try again and see what I get. Are there any Alternative programs? EDIT: I went ahead and got coreplayer and it plays the stream fine, i am not sure what was wrong with the others but everything is fine now. Thankyou for your help. Edited February 28, 2007 by TheBebop
