Guest Happy Dave Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I have to admit I liked emoze but had to get rid of it as I can't be leaving my laptop on 24/7 when I'm not there. Will this major product update do anything to get around that situation or is it other product improvements? Or can't you say? Is it a release on the 28th March or just the announcement?

Well Happy Dave, all I can say right now is that emoze is going to make you a whole lot more Ummm Happy ;) Glad to hear you enjoy emoze!
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Are you actually gonna test the push against blackberry to the device this time, or just send a mail from devices again? Where are you at with a solution that doesn't require your PC left on, and could such a thing ever be free? P

Where are you at with a solution that doesn't require your PC left on, and could such a thing ever be free? P This time we'll test the push both directions, to and from the devices. About the solution you mentioned, lets just say for now that the announcement on CTIA will surprise you all...
Guest rperalta Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I tried Emoze on my Samsung Blackjack and it's fast. However, I had to uninstall it because my phone doesn't make it the whole day, the software drains my phone battery so fast. I wish they come up with a solution that it doesn't drain too much battery. Gripes: Battery - It drains so much of my battery compare to other push email I've tried. Re-curring appointments does not sync (only manual appts appears). I was told by Emoze Tech Support that it's a known issue and they're working on the solution. No ETA. Regards, Robert
Guest emozeoren Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Battery - It drains so much of my battery compare to other push email I've tried. Set emoze to Sync at 5 minute intervals, that will improve your battery usage.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Er, does that mean you could wait up to 5 mins to get a mail? Doesn't that defeat the object of 'push'? P
Guest chucky.egg Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 ;) So the recommended setup is... have your home PC on and checking for email, then use Emoze to pull your emails from it every 5 minutes? Why not just use normal POP accounts and pull them direct from the server? Same result, but much simpler. Coming soon - Emoze Word document editing on your Smartphone. System requirements: A Windows Mobile smartphone, data plan, email account ... oh and a secretary to type the document and email it to you

As a mass market solution, Configuring a POP3 account isn’t as simple as it sounds. emoze eliminates the need to manually set-up your mobile device as well as no IT intervention. Aside from pushing your emails, contacts, calendar and tasks emoze is also the safest back-up solution available. All contacts which are added to your device are automatically synced with your PC contacts. Edited March 6, 2007 by emozeoren

And installing additional software is more easy? I'd argue setting up POP3 is as straight forward for most users. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the 'forthcoming announcement'... P
Guest ygeller Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 (edited) Oren, I love the emoze service in terms of functionality. Here are a few suggestions: 1. Battery - it's a killer... I can't use the software if it drains my battery in 2-3 hours... I can't find where to set a sync every 5 minutes, but as people said - that means loosing the push functionality (?) 2. PC side - I also have a laptop, which I can't leave running in the office. I would ideally install a mail redirector on our exchange server (like I had with xpressmail). Otherwise, I am forced to have a dedicated PC with outlook, my login info and having the PC logged in. Works, but not ideal. Any news on the battery would be wonderful. Thanks! Guest emozeoren Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 ygeller - I'm not sure what device you're useing or what version you have. I recommend the following... Download the latest build of emoze V1.3 build 36 from our website. HERE Here's how to adjust emoze to sync at regular intervals. From within your Mobile client, click accounts and then Open accounts. From within this menu you will be able fully configure emoze. Choose the folders you wish to push, Set emoze to push every from Always on to 5, 10, 30 mins up to 24 hour intervals. Paul - The new emoze wizard is very intuitive, mass market users including myself prefer installing an app which "automagically" configures my device instead of configuring a POP3 account.

How about recurring Outlook appointments not showing up. I heard emoze was working on it but I'm still not seing my recurring appointments with the new version. What's making the battery draing so much? Regards, Robert
Guest bacus Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Choose the folders you wish to push... Using Lotus Notes as my email client, emoze only allows me to sync the inbox. Will I be able to sync my other folders too with the upcoming release? (Hopefully this will also work with the Domino server? <_< - OK, you probably can't tell me that just yet. I'll wait for your anouncement) Lee
Guest Happy Dave Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Ok - I've read the press release on Emoze and now I don't have to leave my laptop on all the time I definately want to give it another go, when will we be able to download the new version? The website still shows the old version released on the 15th March
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 From what I can work out the new version only works with Exchange OWA? P
Guest bacus Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 On the 28th of March, 2007 at 12 noon, emoze will be hosting the "Revival of the Fittest" at CTIA Wireless in Orlando To see who can push emails, contacts & calendar Quicker & Easier. Full details revealed on: www.ctiashowdown.com So, how did the showdown go then? The sites not been updated yet.
Guest StefanScoon Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 I found emoze unsatisfactory and a bit much for what I was asking for. I went with Consilient: free, fast, simple. No pc connector necessary .
