SPL just displaying 'searching' for signal message..

Hi,

The i-mate SPL I purcashed in Decemeber seems to be playing up. I considered outting this post under the decice specific section but I think it classes as a general query too...and not too many people seemed to pick up an SPL so don't fancy my odds of getting an answer there!

Anyway, I was using my phone fine the other day when suddenly the netowork name (Orange) disappeared and now the phone just displays 'searching' instead of Orange. The signal bars are still showing up which seems a little strange. I know it has nothing to do with the sim card or account or signal or anything like that because i put the same card into my old SPV C600 and that works fine. DOes anyone know what might of coursed this? Or how t fix it? Or is the phone just broke and needs to be repaired?

Can you go into Settings-Phone-Networks (or whatever is similar on your phone) and do a Menu-Select Network. This should force the phone to scan all frequencies for all networks. Does is find any networks ?

You could try cleaning the contacts on the phone where the SIM card sits.
