Guest jsull14 Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 I like the Wifi in the T-Mobile Dash, but why do I need a data plan to access my wireless network at home. I don't need a special plan for my computer to use Wifi, but I think I do for the Dash. I'm not looking to use data through the cellular network, just various Wifi networks I have access to. Any info on this? Thanks
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Welcome to the site ;) You do not need a data plan to use the WiFi feature of any device, you only need such a plan if you use GPRS etc and connect to the internet/mail using the networks servers.
Guest whiteflippinjew Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 If you feel like getting email to your phone or checking websites on T-Mobile's EDGE, then you would want to get a data plan. But luckily you have WIFI unlike us unfortunate Blackjack users, so if youre around the office or a network alot, you probably wont need to get the data plan.
