I'm planning to get a Vario 2 next month so I can't say for sure yet, but I've heard of people without any problems doing just this.

I've set up Gmail via POP on my Nokia N70 and it integrates perfectly. Have you followed the settings listed on the Gmail help pages?

It's very straightforward and just works if you use the settings on the gmail website... what's the problem?

Some people forget that you need your full email address as the username for POP3, not just your gmail username.

I have as my settings:

Incoming mail: pop.gmail.com

Outgoing mail: smtp.googlemail.com

Connection: The Internet

Incoming mail server requires SSL authentication

Outgoing mail requires authentication
