Guest JDMinPDX Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Its bee a while since I used a Windows Mobile Phone (think mpx200). Anyway I picked up an unlocked Samsung Blackjack and am using a TMobile SIM with it. Other that the Cingular branding, some Cingular apps (Cingular Video, etc) I have all the necessary settings (lets hope so). Anyway I REALLY was excited to listen to XM radio on this but when I go to the XStream XM Mobile site, log in and choose a station, Windows Media Player opens and get an error about how it cant open because I am not connected to the network. So I then tried another site that streams radio and I get the same thing... How can I get this to work? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Guest notaliberal Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Do you have at least a t-zones plan with t-mobile? YOu'll need to have at least the 5.99/mo t-zones plan to get on the internet... If/once you do, you just need to set up the proxy in your connections settings, and have PIE use "The Internet" for it's data connection and UNcheck the "automatically detect settings" checkbox. This is how I'm set up and I can stream no problem using www.thestreamcenter.com and TCPMP or Media Player... Good luck,

So far I have been able to do everything, visit all sites except stream xm mobile, etc. Right now I have it set to connect via wap. Can you tell me what to put in to the proxy connections? Right now I dont have anything under "Proxy"
Guest JDMinPDX Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 BTW, I have my settings setup according to this link: http://wap.x2-hosting.com/t-zones/ This tutorial says to have PIE on "WAP" You say Internet. Which is correct? ;)
Guest notaliberal Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 You'll have it set to Internet, once everything is set up properly... Follow this thread (use the link in post #7, which this should go straight to), get the cab files, install them, and follow the remaining instructions from the abatis link with the cabs... http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=779819 Let me know if you get stuck. My availability will be questionable for the next couple days, but i'll try to respond quickly for you... Good luck, Jeff
Guest JDMinPDX Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Thanks for your help thus far. I checked out the link you supplied and checked out a few settings that others have posted and that you responded in being the right settings. I tried that link in post 7 but it seems to be inactive. Anyway my settings were ORIGINALLY (only had my blackjack for a few days) from the T-Mobile web site (OTA settings). I checked out another thread that I found on Howardforums (and here) that was called the "CORRECT T-Mobile Settings". I have inputted them and will try them shortly. Go figure I am in an area (visitng the in laws) where I get ZERO T-Mobile coverage. I am just itching to find some signal and try it out. Is this download necessary for it to work properly or is it just the settings made simple for one that doesnt want to go in and manually enter them? Thanks again. Keep you posted!
Guest notaliberal Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Hmm, the link still works for me as of 10:28PM Central... If you still can't get to it, I can email the file to you if you give me your address. If you don't want ot post that here, email me at notaliberal ||AT|| earthlink.net Oh, but yes, as far as I know the cabs are just a quick way of getting all the settings set up, you *should* be able to enter everything manually. I say *should* because I'm lazy and I've never entered them manually myself. The first time I searched for setting up my SDA (back when T-mobile still tried to tell me that the SDA wasn't "compatible" with t-zones - blatant liars yes they are) I found the abatis cabs and have just always used them. So if you can't get it to work manually, give them a shot... One other thing, I've never used the XM stream, so I can't guarantee it'll work even after everything is set up right. All I can guarantee is that you'll be able to stream (with TCPMP or Media Player, both via pocket IE) using sites such as thestreamcenter.com and some others. the XM may very well use some other port of protocol that T-mo will not allow - but I just don't know. Good luck, keep me posted....

I did also try thestreamcenter.com and was also getting the same error so I am hoping both will work. Either way I am heading out soon and will give it a shot. Thanks again for your help!
Guest JDMinPDX Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Success! XM radio works great and so do the other streaming sites. Thank you so much for your help. I'm very excited to be able to get Opie and Anthony via my phone.
