gmail pop

i use gmail and retrieve every 30 mins - but when I send email it retrieves it and puts it in my inbox even with the recent: in front of my usrname! also is there a way to keep the emails on my BJ after resync every 30 mins? and after I grab it via my outlook at home? becuase to my understanding it seems that if I retrieve the emails via pop it gets rid of the emails since its not on the server any more

and one more thing is there a spam filter!!
