Anyone got any tips for me. I'm sure my Internet connection on the Vario is much less stable than it was 3 months ago when I first got the machine. It seems I have to soft reset several times an hour to get any sort of sense from the machine. It "locks up" - I mean the Internet connection does - no access possible. Soft reset and it comes back. Also I get a dialog box a fair amount of the time saying "cannot dial a connection" or the like, and the other one I see regularly is "cannot get server assigned IP address" or similar. The other day in a Costa coffee in central London with a full 3G signal on the display I couldn't get any Internet access at all (strange).

Anyone got any tips or is this what it's like for most people?

I have to say that I really/REALLY like my Vario, and this is a frustration more than anything.

You are not alone in having connection problems with T-Mobile's 3G. Take a look here (big thread) initially, plus there's another thread relating to Orange's M3100. Many are putting these problems down to network issues which may well be effecting your Vario as well.

i was sure that most of the problems were network related and have certainly experienced "local" issues with O 3G - but having upgraded my 3100 to WM6, its handling data hand over to GSM so much better and thus network problems affect me less.

I've heard that T-Mobile are undertaking a major 3G tower upgrade programme at the moment.

It may just be that some towers in your area are going offline for a while during the upgrade.

It might be worth giving T-mobile a call to see if they are upgrading near you.

I just wish Orange would hurry up their 3G upgrade programme.

I live in a valley and get 4 bars of GSM but no 3G.

Half a mile away, at the top of the hill, 3G works fine.

Consequently I can only make or receive video calls whilst walking the dog!

I'm sure my wife is getting suspicious ;)
