Guest fubuk88 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 ok, a few days ago i dropped my SPV M3100 (HTC Hermes) on a reallllly hard tile floor! :D the keyboard popped out!!! and the silver part of the outside casing (top left as you look at the front of the phone) has slightly cracked and is rather dented! lol i have sort of tried to put the keyboard back.....its kind of in, but it doesnt fit flush with the phone and kind of pops out in certain places! also, the buttons dont seem to work where the keyboard isnt flush! maybe because the receptor bits dont touch?!? who knows! lol anyway...does anyone seem to know if the orange £6 or £7 a month (i cant rememebr how much it is, too lazy to go and look at phone bill) will cover this...or will i have to make something up ;) also, would it be worth waiting for the HTC P4550 (HTC Kaiser) to come out, and hope orange are realllly nice and give me one of them! haha thanks mark
Guest crazyc Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I cannot believe that the Kaiser will be on Orange (if at all) until 2008. Did a similar thing with my SPVm3100, but slightlybobbly keyboard still works so am living with it. In your circumstances I would hope the Orangecare covers it (I hope it does if/when I have the same issue)but nowadays you hear all the stories about accidental damage meaning you did not take enough care.....Would be interested if anyone has an answer.

Had the same problem - all I did was run a very thin bit of stiff plasic card round the edge of the keyboard and it seated it self correctly and I have not had a problem since - I am well impressed by the build of the phone as it take a good 1m fall onto concrete and survived !
Guest fubuk88 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 cor! thanks for the quick replys....luckely there are two orange shops near me...so i will take it into one, and if it doesn't cover it then i will tell the other shop something different and hope that they take it :D but i think that the orange care should really take care of it! i shall let you all know ;) thanks mark
Guest mavisdavis Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 You should be ok, Ive dropped plenty of phones covered by O care and had them all replaced. they'll ask you a load of Q's 1st tho, Hint dont say it was in your top pocket. I told them they just slipped out of my hand as I tried to open my car door ;-) or lock it, I also mentioned I had a car mount and silicone/leather cases and apart from the obvious damage the phone 'was' in great condition. Hope this helps your plight dude ;-)
Guest pisquee Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 My 3100 dropped out my hand as I took it from the holster to answer a call. hand was wet as it was raining. It landed screen down onto concrete and the screen smashed. Orange said I wasn't taking enough care, but as a gesture of good-will would replace it. I am glad they replaced it, but was upset/insulted at being accused of not taking enough care.
