I currently have a c550 with 100 mins/100 texts for £20

was thinking to move to other mobi provider, I rang orange and advised I was considering leaving, the agent advised he could offer me a deal. being £35 dolphin, for £25, any phone free and a rebate. I checked this was any phone including the m700 and he confirmed all fine, I took his name and advised I would call when i got home to sort it out, I was please as I have been with them many, many years on and off contract.

Low and behold when I rang in the evening, they had no record of my call and said they could not offer my that, as the phone cost at least £100 on the upgrade for a £25 package, after much too and fro I spoke with supevisior, he would not honour what had previously been agreed, and could really care less if i had left, i advised i had been 9 year loyal customer, seems they only worry about their margins.

well he offered me £25 dolphin tariff, with free phone, and £15 rebate, but they were out of stock. he advised he could send a text message when they are available.

Now they are available on the site, not got my text message yet, but rung them again and they advise they can process the upgrade until i receive a text despite their being upgrade stock.

Sorry bout the rant, but if feel orange have let me down, anyone else had experiences like this, and how did you take it forward?

"Most"* people have left O. Only reasons I can see for staying are....

1) Can't get reception with other providers (O are particularly good in the west country)

2) Free Broadband (when it works)

3) tiaed in to contract or

4) you are a high spender / business customer who they do seem to want to keep.

Everyone else seems to get much better deals elsewhere and for a SmartPhone/PPC T-Mobs data pricing make them my op of choice.

* Might be a 'bit' subjective....

I was with orange from when they started until about 12 months ago. They seem to have gone "downhill" since France Telecom took over. I now have a k-jam on voda which costs £15 inc 6MB data. Only 1000 landline off-peak minutes. So I also went to 3 and got 500 x-network anytime minutes for £15. So two phones but no problems with minutes and I got the phone I wanted (with data). Adios Orange I would say.............
