y'day I installed some new apps. NewspaperDirect's PressReader, AIM's Frosty Factory Demo (game), and greatBal's Playlist manager. Afterwards I noticed that the available memory on my 2125 was down to only 1.5mb !!

I keep, and install, all apps/games to my Storage Card, and additionally I moved CF 2.0 over the Storage Card successfully about a week ago and had nearly 10mb of memory after that.

Any idea what's up or how I can figure out what's eating up my phone's memory? I've scanned the Windows directory by hand and the CF 2.0 stuff still seems to be gone, there aren't any programs of large size in the Program Files directory and all other directories appear to be okay. Yet there's a bunch of memory in use somewhere.

FWIW, I've reset the phone, off/on'ed the phone, and run Free RAM and it's not getting me there.

Thanks for any help!

Kermit

Could be your email, if you're downloading complete messages. They save to the internal memory, and although there are registry tweaks to change the save path, I've never gotten that trick to work on my 2125, so I just download headers and delete the messages periodically to save internal memory.

I found that once I had installed a lot of applications that the amount of free phone memory was dropping despite installing everything to the storage card.

Go through (if you haven't already) and move or delete all the pictures, frames, sounds etc from the phone storage.

Then try looking at the Windows/AppMgr folder. Every time you install something it adds a folder in here with some odd files in. I have moved everything except 'install' to my storage card. You may find that this gives you back a lot of space as some applications can leave some fairly large files here.

Back these up to your storage card. You will need to keep them for if you remove any of the applications. In this case just copy back the relevant folder to Windows/AppMgr.

You need to leave the folder called 'install' (it should be empty). This is the folder where cab files are stored on a temporary basis when you install an app from your PC.

Hope that helps! Using these tactics I have just under 5MB free on my Orange C600 (with imate ROM) despite having loads of apps installed.

Jason.
