Removing Screen Protectors

I have an spv m600 which has a screen protector on it which has been there since I bought it (second hand). I can tell it has a screen protector from the way it looks and feels. I'd like to remove it and replace it with a new one as this one is old now. However it appears so well fitted that there is no 'edge' to grab and pull off.

Is there a knack for removing these things? Can anyone help?

I use my sharpest penknife blade to carefully lift the edge, and it comes off fine.

Duck tape or other strong tape applied near an edge firmly works.
