Guest eyup Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 (edited) Hi guys. I'm trying to get WifiFofum running and it says I require a .net update. I've been to the microsoft site http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en and got the installer and it fails. All my MV3100 says is installation failed. I read the FAQ over at Wifofum website and it says: Q: The .Net Compact Framework 2.0 Installer will not work. Installing via ActiveSync you may see "incompatible device" If copying NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab and taping you may see "Installation error" So the issues are: - The Net 2.0 Install from Microsoft does not seem to support WM2003 pre-SE via ActiveSync Workaround: Copy the proper CAB file onto the device and tap-run it. - ANY NET 1.0 program currently running will prevent the installation of NET 2.0 (i.e Dynamo, SBP Pocket Plus) Workaround: Exit any running NET 1.0 applications e.g. Set Dynamo not to run on startup Can someone please explain how I would do suggestion 2 or otherwise to get the update .net installed? Sorry for being dim. Took me ages to get head round the C500 now I got a whole new toy to try figure out. Thanks ps MV3100 = WOW ;) Edited March 17, 2007 by eyup
Guest eyup Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Update...... I cant get map24mobile to install either. Mv3100 just says installation unsuccessful ;)
Guest eyup Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Hmm getting closer. I think its a memory issue. I deleted the tempory internet explorer cache using Memmaid as detailed on this forum. Looking in my memory info in settings I get the following: Storage - Total 53.88mb - In use 50.08mb - Free 3.79mb Program - Total 49.08mb - In use 23.19mb - free 25.88mb Storage card is 2gb with 944.25 free. Does all that sound normal. Are there any additional ways to free up memory other than memmaid - i.e. files installed by default but not needed? I've installed all my programs to my storage card but TomTom does leave some by default in the MV3100 program memory. Any ideas? Thanks
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 That seems very low, its the Storage memory you need to free up. Check through your My Docs, Program Files, etc on the handset itself in case you've missed anything. Large emails and attachements too. I would imagine the lack of memory is the issue here....
Guest eyup Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Hi, Thanks for the reply. It was a memory issue. TomToms additional voice files were stored. Removed them and got back 40mb. For some reason they were not showing on my computer when I explored via active sync. Now removed and all ok :-) So I've had myself a beer :-) Just gone wireless at home aswell. All works great. I do like my MV3100 :-)
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Nice one, it is a fantastic device! You'll probably find the files were hidden or protected, so they won't have shown up on your PC. Always best to check from the device itself!
