How do you install the memory card to your MDA?

Slide it into the slot at the top of the phone that says miniSD.

i did but it still says its not installed on the phone

It sounds like the cards not formatted or not formatted in a way that your MDA can read. The easiest way to fix that is if you have a card reader you can put it in there then right click on it and then click format. If you do that, format it in fat32 not ntfs. Another easy way is to put it in a digital camera and snap a few pix with it and it should be able to read it after that. You might download Resco Explorer and then reformat it once again after that if you do it that way. I'm not sure how stable a simple format with a digital camera will be in the long run so your better off reformatting it again once you get it to read the card with a good formatting program.
