Do I have to learn XML?

This will definitely brand me as a clueless newbie - but I'm willing to risk it.

I have a Cingular 2125. I previously used a PDA (Windows CE) and I'd like to be able to customize the homescreen of the 2125 to appear more like the PDA. Specifically - I'd like to list all (or at least more than one) appointments for the day, and I'd like it to show my tasks (I haven't been able to find a plugin for tasks either - although I suspect there is one).

I've poked around these boards for a couple of days now and I can't find a homescreen that does both these things. I've also looked at a couple of the homescreen designer tools, but I can't be sure that they'll do what I want either.

So do I have to learn XML so I can make myself a screen that does this?

Please don't be too hard on me if this has been asked and answered umteen million times before and I just haven't found it!

There is a program.....called Facade which would do that job for you!! It basically customizes your Homescreen to view as many appointments as you like - apart from many other features!!
