Guest martweaver Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Hello all, Been reading the forum for about 5 years now but this is my 1st post! Unfortunately its a "how do I" post - sorry! I have just upgraded to a M3100 & as part of the deal I get a new usim 3G simcard Now I want to keep using my C600 as its great and sooo small compared to the briefcase size M3100. I can make & recieve calls fine but get a message saying that my sim is invalid whenever I try & send a text?? I can't recieve any either. I have seen tons of MMS settings threads on here but can anyone help me with this. P.S. The new sim works in my old dinosaur Nokia 6310 so it can't be that can it?? Cheers in advance Martin
Guest Confucious Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Welcome to the world of posting ;) 1) can you send txts with the new USIM in your M3100 / 6310? 2) Could you send texts with yoiur C600 with another orange SIM? Have you got one to try now? Apart from the message centre no which should be on the USIM there is nio set up for SMS. MMS are multimedia messages and can be a pain to set up but normal texts shoulfd be no problem. I used my T-Mob USIM in my C600 with no problem so it 'should' work unless O do anything silly with their USIMs. Have you tried asking O themselves?
Guest martweaver Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Hi mate, cheers for the reply I have had a very helpful lady from orange on the phone all afternoon trying to sort it but to no avail. My 3100 sends texts fine with the new sim. Just tried my work Orange sim (not usim) in the c600 & that sends sms fine too. Funny you mention the message centre no - the field for this is blank in phone settings & whenever I enter it, the phone sends to network and the field becomes blank again?? I'm sure this is the problem
