Guest Mrguy177 Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Is there a way to have your text messages read to you, or you being able to tell the phone what to type in a message.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Welcome to the forum ;) I'm pretty sure that the software won't do either of those tasks. Speech-to-text is apparently very difficult to achieve with a Smartphone or Pocket PC. I think it is to do with the lack of power/program memory but I may well be wrong. There is a commercial solution for text-to-speech though. It is quite expensive but there is a trial. I've not used it myself. TextSpeechPro at PocketGear
Guest skanna Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 voice command will read out your txt messages/emails as they arrive. Has to be set to make all anouncements. Can be quite funny/embarrassing !
Guest conan_troutman Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 there is reported to be a dictation program too available from handango I cant get it to install keeps telling me to install net framework 2 on my PC but I can't get that to install I get an error about not being able to read some temp file. so maybe some one else could try it an see if it does indeed work there is a trial and it retails at about $7

Beat me to it :D I have had one of those embarrassing moments myself more then once with a message from the Mrs! ;) It reads out the messages quite well as well as the incoming phone calls but you can't get it to type what you say into a message.
