Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Yep, Microsoft MVP status for me! I'm off to Seattle on the 8th of February for a week, courtesy of MS ;) We now have an OFFICIAL hook into future SmartPhone development! P
Guest DJHope Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Beauuuuuuuuuutiful, we now have an insider!
Guest Firaas Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Nice one Paul! Now, any chance of getting rid of that certification? ;)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 I don't think i'll carry THAT much influence ;) Besides, remember the certification was an O decision! P
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 I have some interesting looking sessions while i'm in Redmond... Perhaps I should take a GD-87 and get the development guys to take some pics and send some MMS using it. I wouldn't swap my SPV for anything, but the camera and MMS on my wife's GD-87 really are something else! P
Guest MBoden Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 A week in seattle ??? Damn Paul, the forum can't be without you that long, you better hand that trip over to me  Congrats Paul !!!

Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Hehehe! I went to Redmond last year (for a Guerilla VB.net course), and it was pretty good fun, so i'm quite looking forward to going! ;) P
Guest yatpeak Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Congratulations, but could someone shed some light for me on what an MVP is, sorry for my ignorance. Wyatt
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 You can be assured that the forum will remain impartial, and this will bring only benefits! Isn't it nice to know that MS know about the forum, and appreciate all the work we ALL do? If only O could give us a bit more recognition eh ;) P
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 You can read a bit more about MVPs at: http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ P
Guest lutzh Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 and paul: i guess it'll be impossible to send mms from redmond to anywhere - not even around the corner. remember, that they have some real poor network infrastructures there - they can't even spell mms... cherio, lutz
Guest Firaas Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 and paul: i guess it'll be impossible to send mms from redmond to anywhere - not even around the corner. remember, that they have some real poor network infrastructures there - they can't even spell mms... They said in the FirstTimeTogether thing that they'd built an Orange transmitter there for testing the software on Orange's network...
Guest Bazz Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Yup, apparently people were driving up to the car park to use the transmitter when on holiday to avoid roaming costs ;)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Hehehehe, now that WOULD be cool! You reckon they really did? P
Guest Bazz Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 I'm sure I heard it on the video at: http://www.firsttimetogether.com Trying to find it now...
Guest Firaas Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Yeah, they said they did and I believe it - they formed a close enough relationship, and Microsoft would've needed some way to test out the GPRS functions etc in reality from Redmond.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 /me == back Congrats on the status Paul ;) /me goes back to fondling his new rank....
Guest amo Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Oh, didnt notice these. thanks for the updated ranks..my aim is now even higher....
Guest AsherUK Posted January 26, 2003 Report Posted January 26, 2003 Woah, just noticed the ranks too... My mother always told me it was good to be "regular" and now I am !! ;) Congrats Paul on the status and the trip. It will be intresting to hear how things went in Redmond upon your return.
