Blank SMS / Text Message screen

Hi All, I got a T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur) with WM5 about a month ago and have been getting a text message / sms error. It happened once before and I did a hard reset which solved the problem... up until a few days ago when it started doing it again.

The problem is that I can receive sms messages and they appear in the message list, but when I click into them to read the message, the screen appears blank, except for the "Reply" and "Menu" buttons on the bottom. The same thing happens when I try to send a message.

I did a search on the forum as well as on the internet but could only come up with a few topics, none of which provides any solution to this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No not yet... I'm still searching... It seems this problem is very few and far in between amongst WMSP users.

I haven't used Smartphone for quite some time after switching to Pocket PC, but I seem to remember something similar happening when I had a Moto MPX200. When it was happening to me it was due to there being little or no storage space left on the phone - clearing some space on the internal storage solved the problem. Might not be related to the problems you are having but it's the only thing I can think of.

Hi all... it happened again. I can't read any of my text messages or create any new ones once again. I don't think the problem is related to any memory problem but I seem to have narrowed it down to when I shut off the phone and power it back on.

The last time the text message problem occurred was after I shut the phone off and turned it back on after changing SIM cards. The same thing happened today and after powering the phone on again the text messages wouldn't load.

Are there any firmware updates or software patches that anyone knows about for the HTC Excalibur (T-Mo Dash)?
