Guest jimbouk Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) So I saw my first "H" whilst browsing on the phone the other day (in Chiswick). Drove around the North Circular today and device changed from "3G" to "H" whenever data was being transferred. Emails and web were blisteringly quick. Drove home to Richmond and... No "h" grrrr! I'm north of Chiswick near Hanger Lane and it's 3G there also. Man that's a small HSDPA area!
Guest jimbouk Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 I'm north of Chiswick near Hanger Lane and it's 3G there also. Man that's a small HSDPA area! They are rolling out across "london" and the other four "biggest cities" this year. I got "H" today from near Brent Cross to Hangar Lane. The other day it was down in Chiswick but by the river - so it appears they are upgrading cells all over... thank goodness!

Guest crazyc Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Man, I must be just missing out. I work in NW London but live in SE London/Kent border. Not a "H" anyware! Remember H only appears when actually transferring data - rest of the time it shows 3g....
Guest pete.major Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 Which ROM do you need to see the "H"... just the standard Orange ROM or some other one? Thanks, Pete
Guest crazyc Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Which ROM do you need to see the "H"... just the standard Orange ROM or some other one? Thanks, Pete don't know - HSDPA was not available until after I 'Went Black'
Guest modfather Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 i get full good hsdpa signal in croydon. especially near the purley area, specifically in the old rectory pub ;) lol, the net is super super super super fast but i hope still free under my tariff.... And i can confirm net logo change back to 3G after H data is sent or received Cheers. Buncey.
Guest modfather Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Moved hotels nearer to where the HSDPA signal was received. have used HTweakC on WM6 "black" edition on my SPV M3100. I am getting fast enough speeds to say "Hey I got broadband on my mobile..." Its just a shame i live in Birmingham and HSDPA has not been rolled out there yet... heres a screengrab of my downloading off usenet using my hsdpa connection opposite tesco in the purley cross area of croydon. CR0/CR2 postcode.
