Guest Moony1234 Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Last time i was here the spv was just launched and i broke mine  Anyone here repair SPVs? Basically it stays on the "sunset orange" screen when i turn it on. I have tried a hard reset many times with no joy! Any ideas/suggestions?
Guest yatpeak Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 You could get Orange Emergency Care for 50poounds. Wyatt
Guest yatpeak Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Or if you have Orange Care, just ask them to fix it. Wyatt
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 It's a known fault ;) normaly you have to send it back to Orange for repair, but you could try installing the UK update. not sure on that one but it would be worth a try as some people who did the update had the same problem with the sunset screen, and all they needed to do was to redo the update. And welcome back
Guest HelloDave Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 If nothing else works can you get hold of a full SPV image on an SD card (bootloader, WinCE, GSM, IPSM - what you get when you "save all" in the bootloader)? If you can, put the SD card with the image on into the SPV, start it in bootloader mode (power button and voice record together) and it should display "found pboot, WinCE, GSM, IPSM, press action to download" - press the action key and wait until the display says "passed" - this should flash the new image to your phone and it should work. I had a similar problem to this when I corrupted the Windows CE part of the phone's ROM (my fault!), which the UK update changes, so that should be the first thing you try.
