Guest kwoodall Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 I've been experimenting with different homescreens (which I suspect led to this problem) and now my 2125 can't find it's camera. If I hit the camera button it locks up after giving me the following message. If I just launch it from the Camera icon I get the message, but no lockup. The message is: Can't find Camera (or one of it's components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all of the required libraries are available. I've checked this pretty far. I used Dependency Walker to check what DLLs were used and found all of them in the device. The .EXE is there as well as various shortcuts/etc too. So what's missing? Registry entries? I searched 'em and those that came up with filename entries were correct, but I don't know if they were all there. Help! Kermit
Guest notaliberal Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Strange. Couple ideas to try; First try clicking on the camera.exe located in \Windows - see if you still get the message. Also, consider trying the AtekSoft Coolcamera. It's a much better camera utility than the stock one (in my opinion), and it even lets you take larger videos than the stock video recorder. I know these aren't really "solutions" per se, but thought I'd give you something to try while we wait for somebody with actual solutions to chime in. ;) Good luck,
Guest kwoodall Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Nope, same error when I directly click on it. I'll try out the CoolCamera app, but I'd like to know what's wrong with the built-on app. I just discovered something new, the phone also won't let me change the picture for a contact! I wonder if this is the same problem? I also tried Photodialer and removed it...I wonder if that affected anything. Strange. Couple ideas to try; First try clicking on the camera.exe located in \Windows - see if you still get the message.
Guest notaliberal Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 kills me to say, but you might be looking at a hard reset. Something went really wrong, and it's probably in the registry somewhere... Good luck, sorry I can't be more help,
Guest kwoodall Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I think I may have found the problem. I ran TestAppSet... and looked at what files Camera.exe tried to open and then searched for them. Of all the files I can't find CePerf.dll and IAFC.dll.0409.MUI -- anyone got these?? THanks! KW
Guest notaliberal Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I'll check in a few minutes. I just screwed up my phone so I'm currently trying to restore it from sprite, but having problems... Hopefully I'll get it straightened out, and I'm sure I'll have those files once I do. Watch this thread, I'll get to it ASAP. Wish me luck with the restore problems... :/ Thanks,
Guest notaliberal Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Ugh, this is not going well... Hopefully somebody else can post these for you, because I don't know how long it'll be until I'm back up and running. Otherwise I'll get them when I can...
Guest kwoodall Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Sorry to hear that! Hope you're up and running again soon. Anyone else have those two files? (CePerf.dll and IAFC.dll.0409.MUI) Kermit
Guest notaliberal Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Ugh, I'm finally up and running, but I don't see either of those files anywhere. Sorry, I'll let you know if I can find them...sorry...
