Guest esame Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Hi there, I was just wondering if it is against the rules to share promotion code with the users in this forum. I did a service for Expert Shield screen protector by writing a review for them and thus, they have given me a promotion code which is entitled to special discounts whenever I buy their products online by entering this code. According to them, I can share this code with my close friends and relatives, hope that someone might help me clarify this question.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I don't think this is covered by the rules here but seeing as you asked..... .....I'd have to rule against posting the code. 1. For starters they would soon twig that the offer was being abused and you would lose the benefit. 2. They might be friends of MoDaCo and we have to look after our friends' interests. Not like in a Sopranos way but you get my drift.. 3. Assuming Expert Shield aren't some big bucks megacorp, you may well be stealing from the mouths of the proprietors' children. 4. I wouldn't want my mother to think that I was moderating a forum where that kind of thing went on. You know... ;)
Guest esame Posted March 31, 2007 Report Posted March 31, 2007 Thank you for clearing that up for me Disco Stu. Another question is that, what if I start a post saying that I have this discount code and if anyone is interested can PM or email me. Don't get me wrong here, I just don't want this code to go to waste and want to make full use of it by sharing it with my fellow forumers. Cheers

To me, I'd suggest that would be, around 1-10 people, who you personally know and are close to. I would very much doubt they intend Modaco readers to be in that category. D PS - and I meant to say that it should be Expert Shield who clarify the question for you, not Modaco users. They're the ones who provided you with the code and therefore know what they intended when they gave it to you. Edited March 31, 2007 by Swampie
Guest Disco Stu Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Thank you for clearing that up for me Disco Stu. If Expert Shield spot that the code is being abused they will block its use and send you a snotty email. So it would depend on how many times you gave it out. I'm not really all that bothered, as my attempts at humour might have suggested ! Other than MoDaCo members I doubt if many of my close friends and relatives would actually be interested in screen protectors anyway. I found life easier without them, So, I probably wouldn't remove such a post but then other staff members might. I don't think a simple discount code is quite the same thing as posting registration keys or something like that.
Guest esame Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Well in that case, anyone who's interested can just Private Message me, that way I can monitor how many people get to use this code. Thank you guys for the advice.
