Guest steve_costin Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone! I have been having this strange problem with my new SPV M3100. I use it as my alarm clock to wake me in the mornings except recently it's been going off 30 mins late then when i am out and about my alarms go off one after the other at completely strange times. Also my activesync has been playing havoc ever since i got it. I have to power the device off and on to get it to connect properly. I decided i would factory reset before i phone orange and ask them about it. I did that today. Previously to that i used the HTweakC program (it allows me to configure my device that little bit more. There were options for an "Always-On" GPRS connection, and also an option to show my GPS icon) installed. Since i have factory reset and reinstalled it my GPS options aren't on there anymore and the pages for configuring GPRS are just white, no options at all. They're empty pages. I wondered if anyone had had a problem like this before and how they fixed it. Oh, and also, does anyone get the problem when you're synchronising your music with Media Player that the device will just completely freeze and Media Player will usually say 1 or 2%. The only way i can get it going back on it's way is to hold the power button then when the option to shut down comes up the device unlocks itself and the synchronising continues. It's really annoying. Anyone got any idea? Thanks for the help! Edited March 30, 2007 by steve_costin
Guest jimbouk Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 1) Do another hard reset and let the orange customisations run again. Sounds like the rom or the extended rom didnt take last time 2) If you get the alarms and notifcations issue again, there's various apps out there that let you try to remove any dud notifcations from the database which cures most ills. 3) Disable advanced USB to PC connection (connection settings) and then try active sysncing and sycning your media!

After i did a factory reset all was going well when today i checked the time zone, it had changed back to Prague time which it had done so many time before. This is strange but i didn't bother changing it back as i couldn't be bothered to give it the satisfaction so to speak. Later i tried to connect to activesync and it immediately complained at me, so i thought i would change the time zone back to London and when i did and reconnected it to the computer it's been syncing since no problems. So it seems this automatic changing of the time zone is causing a lot of problems. When i noticed it it solved my activesync problem and it explains why my alarms have been acting strange. I just need to know why it's changed! My mate said his alarms accumulated and went off the at the same time and i asked him to check the time zone and it was on Prague too! He has an SPV M3100 too. Something strange is going on here... Any ideas?
