What do you mean by silence an incoming call?

Do you mean silence the ring? Can you not just set it to silent (no ring) in the profile?

Or do you mean silence it during a call?

i mean to silence it during a call of course...when its ringing and you want to stop the ringer... its usually done by pressing the volume down key while the phone is ringing...

Just to clarify (I don't know the answer but it may help others understand what you're trying to do), I take it you mean that when the phone is ringing you can press a button which will silence the ring but neither answer the call, nor hang-up (i.e. the calling party still hears it ringing). I used to use such a function on previous phones if I wanted the phone on ringer (e.g. couldn't have it in my pocket hence vibrate no use) yet once I received a call I may have wanted to silence the ringing whilst I legged it out of the room to subsequently answer it...

Is that what you mean?

(Edit: This sounds like a JAQ3-specific issue as my M600 (WM5 PPC) does indeed silence the ringer at a single touch of the volume-down slider, but you've said you've tried that...).

If you have SPB Pocket Plus installed it has a "Mute" function that you could map to a hardware key - not tried it myself but could be worth a try!

I didnt work.. i tried mapping both mute and volume down to a button... but it failed.. i think that it there must be a registry tweak to do this!
