HTC Trinity GPS (what about MTeoR?)

Since most of the HTC 3G phones use the same Qualcomm chipset (I think), does anyone know if the new GPS enabled trick for the HTC Trinity would on the HTC MTeoR as well? I know the same software ROM would not work (PocketPC vs Smartphone) but just the theory of the experiment.
