Guest childrey Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Hi. I have my new M700 with me and I've heard that you can 'pass through' - get internet on the handset using your computer's connection via USB. My question is: is it possible to do the reverse? I have no internet connection at home any more and, as useful as IE is on the M700, there are some things (such as flash, certain files etc) that I can't view on my handset. What I would like to do is connect my handset/PC via USB and then use my M700's connection to access internet on my PC (XP). Does anyone have any ideas about this? Is it possible? Have you done anything similar before? I know it's possible on laptops, but I've not seen anything about PC's (probably because everyone has broadband). Thanks
Guest jimbouk Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Yes it is. I dont know the m700 myself but assume as it WM5, you just need to download the HTC USB Driver for your pc and then use it as a data modem. Hope you got unlimited data though...
Guest mstephenson Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Yes it's certainly possible, you just need the USB Modem driver and the settings...try typing it into yahoo/google as there are some great guides out there. I did have one on my laptop but it's recently died so unfortunately I can't share that with you. Just do some searching, there is definately an idiot proof guide out there somewhere because I managed it!!
Guest SeeJ Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 The driver you need is on the CD that came with your M700 open 'Intertnet Sharing' in Programs>Accessories on your handset then hit connect. Plug into your PC then find the right driver on the CD. Hey Presto 3g tinternet on your PC If your Orange you can get unlimited off-peak data between 7pm and 7am weekdays and all weekend. I'm guessing you've got that already though...
Guest SeeJ Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 P.S. This should really be in the pocket pc > M700/Trinity section.....
