Guest duuncan Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Hi, my 12 months and 13 days old Vario has just started to crap out on me, the problem comes when the battery is below 80%, when i open the on screen touch keyboard the screen locks up and has loads of vertical streaks down it. These streaks increase in number until the screen is completely white. During this the screen seems unresponsive to touch, however, if i tap around on the screen then hit the standby button off then back on the screen updates with what was typed. A hard reset and full firmware re-install failed to help. Any ideas would be apprieciated Thanks Duuncan
Guest pdtp Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 it sounds to me like you have a loose cable inside that attach the screen to the device. anything where you have to tap it to get it to come back is going to be a loose conection. you might wanna see if the company your with will warenty it if not there was a pdf on how to dismantle the phone.
Guest hotphil Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 This is *exactly* the same problem I've had for a couple of months now. I've just got round to ringing T-Mobile this morning as (luckily) I've still got 3 weeks of manufacturer warranty and they're going to send it off for repair. Problem is that as it's a little intermittent I'm worried it'll behave for them and they'll not actually do anything. Anyone know if they do some kind of "standard overhaul" or just send the unit back if they can't reproduce a fault? I'd be happy with a recon unit tbh.
Guest mini_man Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 (edited) Oh thats what it is! Yes I have this problem it drives me mad, unfortunately I dont think there is any warrenty left on mine . Ill get round to taking a look at this problem on my vario after these damn GCSE's Edited June 4, 2007 by darkswitch
Guest hotphil Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 The good news T-Mob exceeded my expectations yet again. I am so glad I ditched Orange for them. I rand T-Mobile and described the problem, a bit of transferring around and long story short I sent off my faulty Vario and got a replacement one within a week. Good job too as I only had 3 weeks of warranty left. Even got an additional stylus ;-)
