Guest wawul Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Hello everyone, I recently bought a T-mobile SDA (to avoid any confusion it's the lower one in this picture: http://www.smartphonehistory.com/specs.php?UID=26) and tried to install a different ROM to get the a2dp working. I used i-mate_SP5m_WWE_2.6.331.2, but I got an error message that it can't be flashed due to vender (sic) incompatibility. For a second I thought I bricked it, as it was unresponsive and was showing some weird diagnostic screen. Fortunatelly taking out the battery fixed the problem. After reading all of those horror stories of unsuccessful ROM replacements I'm much more hesitant to simply experiment. So... can anyone help me out with choosing the right ROM? What options are there? (a2dp capability would be nice). Any relevant reading material will be appreciated. Thanks guys, -wawul
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 The legalities of installing ROM images from other service providers are a little dubious. For info on the methods used and requirements for doing so your best bet is to have a look around www.xda-developers.com Theres LOTS of information there, particularly in the forum, so take your time and have a good look around. Don't forget to make use of their search function!
Guest notaliberal Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 You used the correct ROM, but you need to do the super CID thing over at xda-developers first, as hinted to above. go there and search super CID. The first dozen or so times I tried to super CID, it wouldnt respond. Turns out the program connects to a server, which was down at the time. Just an FYI if it doesn't work right away for you. Do the CID, and that ROM will make your SDA so much more stable. THat's what I'm running on my t-mobile USA SDA, it's been good to me.
Guest aranello Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 Hi, I have a BIG question: this phone (xda o2) has WiFi? I bought one, and in the menus there is the option to use wifi connection, but it doesn't work. If I try to set wifi connection, the mobile shows that there are no drivers installed. Sob.
