T9 input on Vario II, why missing? can I get it?

Hi

I have recently moved from my MDA compact II to a Vario II, I think that everything is better on Vario other than the lack of T9 input, which I used alot on the compact.

Texting is a pain without it, I don't like having to use the keyboard or the stylus.

Why is it missing and is there any way to get it back? I don't mind paying for it if needs be, would make life considerably easier for me

It's missing because of the licence fees that would need to be paid by HTC to Tegic to include the technology in the phone. There's no way to put it back without breeching the licence conditions. See T9's website FAQ for more details.
