Guest Electronic Punk Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Just got a text telling me to go here: http://www.vodafone.co.uk/dataprices/ Have Vodafone finally caught up? Dunno what this means for someone who uses an Mteor and can't reach Vodafone Live! tho! Hopefully nothing bad but I will have to look into it further.
Guest psionandy Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) Why does Vodafone... hate mobile users.. and then sign up the treo as an exclusive??? at 15mb a day, you could blow that reading Modaco... All the new changes mean is that they hate you slightly less than they did before. Edited April 13, 2007 by psionandy
Guest Electronic Punk Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 I am hoping thats a bare minimum and there addons (whatever they call them) will boost that - would be ferat if there was an unlimited one, but would love to just leave my phone signed into messenger without worrying about blowing my 2meg (a month) or the corrosponding 200 texts (hah!)
Guest Electronic Punk Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Ok just read it again (was reading it from a sever before) Doesn't look like it works with IM services. £1 for up to 15 megs but up to that it seems to be expensive, will have to see what the packs are like. Just do a damn unlimited plan ffs.
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Of all things Orange PAYG unlimited data is still better (WnW notwithstanding). I thought mobile networks were trying to encourage mobile data usage? The out of bundle prices seem to be set at a level to dissuade people over using it...

Guest Electronic Punk Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) I can't even get to Vodafone Live! as I don't own an authorised device - I did actually get it working once for about 5 minutes having tweaked the registry and GPRS settings to bits, but didn't note down the exact configuration - hopefully they will relax this if they get to charge for everything? Maybe if they change the contract enough I can moan hard and have my contract invalidated so I can switch to a network that does care about data and people who might want to own phones that the network itself doesn't sell. Guest Stuart_f Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 It's better than nothing but not by that much. £1 for 15Mb per day works out for a 30 day month as £30 for 450Mb (the monthly data plan is going to be cheaper than this or they wouldn't introduce it). Contrast that with: £1 for 40Mb per day T-Mobile payg and a monthly plan WnW £7.5 for 1Gb. For anyone to bother signing up for the monthly plan they are going to have to make it worthwhile - £15 or less for 1Gb usage they may keep a few customers but otherwise it's T-Mobile all the way.
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 have you seen the new £5 per month deal from 3? Yeah i have. I seem to remember having problems getting email working on their 10mb internet bundle though?
Guest Electronic Punk Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 So it seems to have launched and I can now see an additional subscription available: Our 120MB data pack lets you pay for your mobile internet usage on a monthly subscription, meaning you can browse to your hearts content. Get the first month free when you subscribe. How much data will I use? Monthly charge Options Select £6.38 120MB of data
