Guest Jules555 Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) Hi-SORRY if this has been posted elsewhere I just got a Vario II, have installed Active Sync, start synching, and every time it say it is synching on desktop, and on handheld, but nothing happens! Maybe I'm not patient enough, but I set it to just synch Favorites for a trial, and have been waiting 25 minutes already! Just keeps saying it's synching, green cirle turning, but nothing transferring. Am tearing my hair out, so thanks a lot! I just realised Vario II comes under Pocket PC, so will post this there as well, hope that's OK Edited April 13, 2007 by Jules555
Guest yrreP Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 If it is spinning, the problem is most likely with the traffic being blocked. Assuming that your are using USB... Try everyone's favourite tip - Tap on Start Settings Connections Tab USB to PC Uncheck the box in here. Unplug device, and plug back in. Should be okay now.
Guest flyswat Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 I had the same problem last night, I discovered that although Activesync said it was sync'ing my phone (Vario II), it wasn't. Not sure for how long it has been doing this, but I have only had the phone a week. I updated activesync to version 4.5 in the hope of a solution, but activesync recognised my phone as a new device. I set up a new partnership and my phone sync'ed correctly. I have since amended a few contacts and it seems to be sync'ing OK. Not sure if this is of any help... you could try the same if you are not already on activesync 4.5
Guest Jules555 Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Thanks a lot both of you. It was that checkbox thing, is working fine now- can't express how grateful I am, was going crazy! Guess this is a useful forum? Have Vario II on month's trial, one issue I'm finding (am an ex-Treo and Palm fan) is scrolling down a page- and also, is there any way all the content of a web page, or word document, or whatever, can be made to fit on the screen, without endlessly having to scroll to the right and then back to the left? Thanks again
Guest yrreP Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 WIth web pages yes. Tap on, erm, View / Options or whatever it is in the bottom right, and select Full Page i think it is... To get rid of the full page option, tap on the screen anywhere and uncheck it. Not sure about Word documents, etc.
