Found this and had to share:

http://www.gbax.com/gp32review.html

It's a handheld games console that is open source. So far it emulates:

SNES, Sega, NES, PC Engine, ZX Spectrum, Commodore, MSX, GBA

I am SO tempted to buy one, currently £100...

Now three words - I want one

Looks pretty damn good, but they are gonna have to do a hell of a lot of marketing if they want a slice of the handheld gaming market. Sega what? Atari who? Ahhh Nintendo Gameboy

Well truth be known, is anyone actually going to buy it for it's 'native' games or for it's emulation/media capabilities?

I for one would buy one because of it's open source nature, there's even talk of someone porting linux to it!

I want the same thing with a Compact Flash Type 2 port... SMCs suck big time.

But that IS cool!

heh, if it had sd cards it would be even better, you could use the same stuff on your phone as on the handheld console (gb games, movie files, music etc)

Wow! It's amazing though, when you think that it emulates so many consoles, and only needs about 6 buttons, where the more recent consoles have around a dozen, including one and sometimes two analog sticks.

I recon so - if u get one fo thoses flash reader thingies for GBA advance you can copy your carts to the PC, and then onto the device to play on its GBA emulator. Why bother keeping your GBA then

What's wrong with SMCs? I've never used one, but what do people have against them?

Thanks,

WARNING FOR SELL YOUR GBA AND BUY GP32 people

The GP32 runs on an arm processor clocked fairly similar to our phone. Although it has less OS cluttering it up, the performance is supposed to be slow on SNES and GBA emulation (last I read).

They're supposed to have good speed for everything else.

So don't expect it to sort all you GBA needs just yet.
