Two things to discuss

Okay, so for the third time, my earpiece in my K-JAM has died, so I went to take it back to Telstra to get them to replace it with a JASJAM, and the lady went and got the box and come back out (which i thought was weird, she didn't even want to send it away or whatever first, she was willing to replace my phone right then and there), and got me a new 3G simcard to work with the phone and went to do the final paper work and came back saying that she was sorry but she had to take the phone back (i had it in my hands and everything! was about to rip the protective sticker off the front of the screen!) because turns out that the warranty that I have with Telstra ran out 2 months prior (12 month warranty with telstra, 24 month with i-mate), so she said that there was absolutely nothing she could do (understandably) and that she'd have to take the phone back.

so she gave me i-mate's number and i gave them a call as soon as i walked out of the Telstra Shop on speakerphone (which is annoying when you're in a shopping centre on a saturday morning in the food court), and the person on the other end told me that he couldn't help me with my enquiry as it was the international office and that he wasn't fit to help me out, however he did say that i would probably get a new K-JAM which I dont think is right.

so then I proceeded to tell him that it will cost them more for them to send my phone backwards and forwards for repairs for the next 24 months than what it will to just give me a JASJAM.

he continued to tell me that he can't help me and to call back monday morning after 8am...

so anyway, i was unhappy and decided the best way to make me happy was to go to donut king and get a hotdog and milkshake.

so anyway, later that afternoon after i got home, i got onto the online support and the lovely fellow named Duncan explained to me that in my situation, the best thing i could do is email them, with the repair details and dates and that they would get in contact with Telstra and discuss what would happen.

so anyway, i haven't done that yet (been busy busy busy), but i'm about to now after i post this topic.

alright so second thing, i wouldn't mind getting into reviewing of mobile phone devices and what-not, but i'm not entirely sure where to start. i don't really have the money to go out and buy every device, but would love to have a feel for each device and be able to give an opinion on each phone ;) so how did most of you get started out doing it? and is there anyone i can contact or perhaps somewhere where i can sign up?

thanks for reading guys :D glad to see the forums are back up and running :(
