Guest jvo8 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Does anyone know if all the buttons supposed to have backlight when pushed or sensored? My 8525 only lights up the phone red and green icon buttons. At night I can't see any of the others like okay, IE, message, ect. thanks.

I think the buttons only light up when its dark (and the sensor is turned on)

Key pads will light up when phone slides open but the other buttons. ;) Maybe it's just not dark enough? Have you tried going into a pitch black room and pressing the dot key (the alt key as such to trigger the alternative functions)? that usually works for me if I'm in the dark and need to see... Maybe your light sensor is obscured or broken?
Guest jvo8 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Yeah, I was in the dark. The keyboard lights came once i turned of the lights to the room. But still, the okay, windows logo and the two softke buttons did not light up. The IE and Messaging buttons by the ear speaker did not come on either. Anyone have this problem? I light sensor is working becuase of activation with the keyboard. ;) :D

Only the red & green buttons have their own lights. The others keys and the D-pad just have their outlines backlit by the (not very good) white backlight underneath the D-pad. The light sensor is purely for the QWERTY keyboard, which you have already stated, works. If you carefully run the edge of your fingernail over the keys, you can feel that the red & green symbols are slightly recessed into their keys, whereas the others are simply painted on top of their keys. It's a shame, but we're stuck with it. Martin Edited April 18, 2007 by martinwilliams999
