Ringtone Locations

Hi all

I've had a look for this using search but couldn't find the answer, hence this post.

I have lots of duplicate ringtones on my device - and this seems to be confusing it as sometimes it reverts to one ringtone over another.

Can someone tell me if there is one location where I should put all ringtones/sms alerts/etc in .wma, .wav and .mp3 format so that I can get rid of the dupes and free up some memory?

Thanks in advance

Ringtones need to be in Windows/Rings (WMA, MP3, WAV, MID) and all other notifications should stay in the Windows folder (WAV only). You may need to go to Fiule Explorer and tap Menu/Show All Files to see your WAV files.

You can also put them in the Application Data--> Sounds file, the My Documents folder or in a My Documents folder on your SD card. It should be able to find them in any of them.

I think that only applies to the more recent AKU's (2.3 and above?). Some of our members tried the My Documents and Application Data locations, and they didn't work, which is a real nuisance if you want to keep your sounds segregated from all the Windows stuff.

I have all mine in the root folder of the SD card.
