Guest The Doctor Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 After many, MANY years of SERIOUSLY lagging behind in bluetooth functionality. It seems Windows Mobile is starting to catch up :D For I don't know how long, I've been wanting a half decent bluetooth file browsing application on my phone. Then along came this :( The cab attached below will add bluetooth FTP functionality to the built in file explorer on your windows mobile device ;) What more could you want? :) Instructions: Download the cab: Bluetooth_Explorer_1.1.26907.1.cab Install the cab Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > FTP and tick the boxes etc Done :) Screenshots: Enjoy Phil

Did you try it on a tornado? I haven't had chance to test on my C550/C500/8310 yet. 2. Please note the word decent ;) Bluezard is great for bluejacking, however for file browsing it leaves alot to be desired. A gap which I hope will be filled by Sniper :D This plugin/app/whatever could be improved upon a great deal. Phil Edited April 20, 2007 by The Doctor
Guest conan_troutman Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 gap which I hope will be filled by Sniper Heres hoping I will try install it later if it does I will test it tonight as i am at a 21st, and you know its in good hands for testing don't you
Guest conan_troutman Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 instals fine then after reboot asks for use a a Fmode .dll or simillar then programs runs fine as a filamanager can see some added folders such as Bluetooth (which appears as an extra Storage card) and a Bluetooth Share folder which I moved to the SD card cos thats where I would prefer it went to Go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > here I got stuck as there is not this option there is the option to have OBEX authentication required and to change my BT name. should I goto Settings > Connections > Beams and tick recieve incoming beams (renders sniper useless for me if I do as I user sniper all the time as you know) can't seem to find away to make a connection to any devices to browse any suggestions or do you recon it may be a rebuild for thre tornado

Guest conan_troutman Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 you say that like I would know how, I am an idiot, a brave idiot granted which is what makes me a good beta tester, that and a great thing called hard rest and sprite back up a brave idiot but prudent. lol might wait for the rebuild, i'll just badger mr miyagi after i get the autostart hidden reciever option I am after.
Guest The Doctor Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 can you make this available to work on the tornado range (Imate SP5) Now working on the tornado ;) You need to make sure the following values are in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BluetoothFolder DWORD: Active = 1 DWORD: Enable CLient = 1 DWORD: HDEVICE = 11710896 DWORD: Query Interval = 50 DWORD: Resync = 0 String: StoreName = BTD1: It won't work from the built in file manager but WILL work if you use the Bluetooth Explorer link in the start menu and then navigate to /Bluetooth on your device :D Phil
Guest conan_troutman Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 installed, rebooted, checked registry this is what i have String:(Default) =(value none) DWORD: Enable Client = 1 DWORD: HDEVICE = 12087104 DWORD: Query Interval = 50 String: StoreName = BTD1: do I change what I have here to the setting you have above or do I add making making duplicates as I noticed you had spelt Enable Client as Enable CLient
Guest conan_troutman Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 tried adding and tried it by replacing/editing. it still only works as a file manager. there are no options in the menu to allow me to connect to another device and browse thier folder. other than creating the "Ghost" SD card its has exactly the same functionality BTwise as the built in file manager. am I still missing some thing?
Guest The Doctor (downloads) Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) Just add the values you dont have, edit the values that arent the same, then open Bluetooth explorer from the start menu, then navigate to \Bluetooth on the device and wait for devices to appear in the folder as it discovers them ;) Tested on my 8310 with a Nokia N70 and Vario II. Copying and pasting files works too :D Phil Edited April 22, 2007 by The Doctor (downloads)
Guest conan_troutman Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 will try it again tom and let you know...
Guest M1TNT Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Loaded this app on my phone on Friday ( M3100 with TomTom 6 ) Great app had some really good fun with it till Saturday when I had to drive down to London - fired up TomTom and it was not till I started to get to a part of my tril that I noticed my TomTom had not said a word to me all day long. When I went to check the voice set up as it was reporting that there was no valid voice selected. GRRR it was however showing me where to go so I did get to my destination with out too much problems. Did a restore of my backup that I did before I installed BT File explorer and the voices came back - installed BT file explorer again and the voices disappeared. Any ideas ?

Maybe its incompatible with AKU2.X devices? Either way... this app actually came from a HTC Trinity WM5 AKU3 ROM, so it DOES work with WM5 Phil

Guest The Doctor Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 That makes sense, I allready know the ROM's where seriously out-dated on my brand New MDA Vario II. Very true, hopefully HTC will release an official WM6 ROM later this month. Tho TBH i think it will be based on AKU0.2.1 (Dymond is 0.2.3 IIRC, and LVSW is 0.3.0) and so nothing special, but will most likely have all the new OEM drivers and software (such as HTC's X-Button). Obviously BB Connect won't work with the official HTC ROM as the build numbers will be different. In the cooked ROMs they've been modified to 5.1.195 and 17747.2.3.0 for BB Connect to work with them... BTW sorry about my delayed response to one of your previous replies, I didn't realise this topic was over more than 1 page  Phil
