Battery life

Now that some of you have the devices, could you please post some idea of how long the battery lasts?

I know it varies massively depending on usage but even if you could post something like "X minutes, Y texts in Z days gave % left according to the battery indicator" it'd be a great help. I'm trying to work out whether the Vox has a battery life more like my SPV E200 (1 day max), my SPV C500 (a week!) or my Wizard (3 or 4 days).

Thank you all!

I don't think people have had them long enough to even run the batteries flat yet have they? ;p

Heh - true. Assuming the batteries do run out it'd be nice to know when ;)

The standby-time orange and htc pretend to be 7 days. Well this is really annoying. The thing dies on me in 1 day and i only called once.

Sounds like there's something wrong with yours, I did a couple of calls, lots of surfing and push email all day, and still had 2 bars left.

HTC S710:

CE OS 5.2.1235 (Build 17740.0.2.0)

ROM elements: 5.2.1235.17740

Battery: LIBR160

So the HTC device uses the same ROM versions as the E650.

I've worked out that 100% battery life lasts for approximately 65hrs for me. That's nearly 3 days so that's good going. This is only based on 3 days usage so far so i'll have to work it out more accurately using wifi for each day etc. I reckon 2 days is an even statement though.

Yep, sounds about right to me, with minimal usage for actual calls though. Who actually TALKS to people these days? ;)

I've used regedit to change the hkcu/control panel/power value from 0 to 30. It seems the battery lasts longer.

What exactly does this do?

It makes sure backlight goes off when you have the setting on that the backlight should turn off. In some situations the backlight wont go off. The regedit solves this issue.

It's only an issue though if you've installed something that clears that registry setting in the first place!

Had my E650 for a few days now and battery life seems pretty good. On one day i have used Tom Tom for 3 hours, made a few phone calls, plus done an hours surfing of the web using WiFi. Still got 68% battery left one day later. I'm pleased with that. I'm used to charging my phone daily so that's fione by me.

By the way, Tom Tom 5.2 works like a dream. however, try and switch it over to landscape mode and it freaks out and crashes. Never mind though. The screen is well big and clear enough for normal mode.

I've had the E650 turned on for 48 hours straight now, not used at all really due to my number not being transferred yet and it's down to 70% battery. So that's 15% per 24 hours on standby, which gives 6 to 7 days total if you don't actually use it, just like HTC quoted!

I charged it today at 2 pm and now(midnight) it´s down to down to 1 bar

However I should mention that I been on wireless for about 6-7 hours straight with backlight turned on most of the time

and windows live messenger running....

...and I have that TCPMP bug with backlighting staying on until I manually lock my keypad.

So im hoping for some better battery life during normal conditions.
