Pdair alum case colour choice?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying one of those ADVERTISING SPAM aluminium cases for my vario II since the t-mobile supplied one is so naff - darn thing, managed to get loads of fibres under my screen protector first time I popped the vario in it plus everytime I put the vario in it on standby when I then take it out it has tried to connect to the internet so tight is the case. Rant over.

Anyhow, I have more or less decided on a ADVERTISING SPAM metal one and just wonder if any of you have views on colour preference re the black and the silver version? I suppose it is pretty much personal choice but I just wonder if you found the black one, perhaps, shows marks and scratches too easily or whether the silver one is too 'bright', etc, etc.

i've got the silver one and personally i think it looks cheap compared to the black one i had for the wizard. Also at home i get a low 3g signal throughout the house but in the aluminium case it drops back to G and only has two bars. Take it out of the case and its back onto a 3G signal

That's a bit poor!

I was also thinking of buying one, but since I only get a weak signal at home, I don't think I'll bother.

I got the black one in the end and am very happy with it. It looks just right for the Vario II and the phone feels far more solid and secure in the hand.

The one weak area appears to be around the the stylus area where there is a gap to remove the stylus so you would be pretty unlucky if your phone landed on that corner. It certainly looks alot more secure than many of the thid party leather cases out there though and far easier to use than the t-mobile supplied leather case. I can use the phone in the metal case no problem.

I have a black case. I am very pleased with it as it has taken some serious abuse over the last 8months or so and has importantly protected my Vario II.

Yes, I do find there is a small signal strength hit (for me anyway) when the Vario II is in it and I guess the only thing I have against it, is it's size - it does increase the footprint of the Vario II considerably but the protection the case provides far out way these. I would also agree on the weak area mentioned above but as stated you would have to be really unlucky for it to land there.

The finish of the case is very good, it looks the part and suits the Vario II very well. It is beginning to show its age though as it's beginning to scuff and mark but I'm not concerned as this is due to the abuse it's taken and not due to a design/manufacturing flaw.
