Smartphone for use in Europe and Japan

Hi there,

I am serching for a smartphone which should be able to operate in the Japanese network (like NTT DoCoMo) and also in a European network.

I think mobiles in Japan dont use simcards but I know a common mobile phone out of Japan which can use simcard and the common Japanese mobiel contract.

Does anyone know such a smartphone?

It would be a great help for me!

Softbank (formally Vodafone Japan) use 2100Mhz 3G and DoCoMo are moving to support the same so as long as you have a 3G phone and a UK operator that has a roaming agreement in Japan you should be fine - (3G coverage over there is good in the cities). If you are after a Japanese handset that works in Europe, then that's beyond me I'm affraid.
