You need to have your Outlook file hosted on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 system.

This means that if you or your company already have this, you can get it to produce the necessary security certificates to allow the M700 to connect.

If you don't have your own server, you need to subscribe to a 3rd party Microsoft Hosted Exchange, from where your messages, appointments, contacts and tasks will get 'pushed' to your device. There are some free services, but most are about £5 per month or so. Look at 4Smartphone.net for an example. Their £49 per annum service includes a copy of Outlook 2007. If your data is sensitive, I'd make very sure of the credentials, security and 'crisis contingencies' with the free services.

You need to specify your requirements a bit more accurately!

If you don't already have a company, or personal Exchange Server 2003 system, it would be expensive and tricky to set up from scratch, as it needs to be on a dedicated server.

More cost effective are systems like Emoze, or 4Smartphone. Each of those will provide you with the login/access details when you register, and 4SP will also provide a downloadable configurator for Windows Outlook. 4SP also includes a downloadable copy of Outlook 2007 for the PC. Windows Mobile 5 or 6 will configure the settings via ActiveSync, or you can enter them manually in ActiveSync on the PPC via the Server setup menus.

I have no experience of the pros/cons of Emoze, but can vouch for the excellent service from 4SP, which costs $7 per month.

I'd also look into Consilient Push (www.consilient.com). That is what I am using now on my BlackJack and it works quite well. You sign up for the free service and it requires you to install a program on your device and you are able to have your existing POP3/IMAP pushed directly to the messaging app. on your device. I tried Emoze, but I didn't like it much since it required the program to be running on your PC all the time and had to be synced through Outlook.
