For what i know, Samsung don't plan to relase WM6 update for unbranded i600. Only rom updates to make WM5 more stable and add maby new features ;)

Wouldn't the Cingular and T-mobile updates have to be branded versions of a ROM developed by Samsung?

Cant find an article right now but it has been verified that they will begin testing either May or June and have it released in maybe August.

At CTIA, they had a Blackjack and Treo 750 running WM6. ;)

Good News on the WM6 BlackJack Upgrade!

Over on the AT&T BJ Forum, xhozt writes:

"on a good note i just got off the phone with samsung tier 3 ... :WM6 is just round the corner in a few weeks" per the rep and the enginer .

as well as I FINALY got them to escalate the java issue to engenering for updating this on the wm6 update.. once i was able to demonstrate they are violating SUNs java standards and for there own sake should fix the permitions issue .. ;-)"

So hopefully, we will only be waiting a bit longer.

Well, I wouldn't say it's a joke. More like a yet-to-be-confirmed rumor. AT&T's forum members are the first mention of it, and probably that's where the guy first saw the post I would imagine. I heard the same thing on the Blackjack Users forum, and the post was linked to that forum.

AT&T's Forum topic on the "release date."

I haven't seen any true idea that it is coming (no mention on the moderator's end in the topic, no updates on AT&T Mobility's corporate site, etc), so I'd still treat it as hearsay.
